Nissan Motor has unveiled the latest model of Pathfinder 2013 recently and hopes that it will surely improve the present version’s performance among the large sports utility SUVs in the global market. The latest Pathfinder will be around 300-500 pounds lighter in weight than the 2012 one, as per the option that the customer chooses, reported by Carla Bailo, the Senior Vice President, Research and Development, Nissan Americas.
Features and specs
Pathfinder’s fenders and slab sides of the earlier version have now given way to smoother and modern design. Even the exterior of the 2013 Pathfinder is aerodynamic and sleek. The latest version will move to the uni-body chassis as well, last among SUVs to be shifting from the body-on-frame chassis type.
Is Pathfinder a good option to consider?
It is interesting to note that the Pathfinder is 2nd among the 5 vehicles that Nissan is launching in 15 months span of time. The first one was Altima, the midsized sedan that recently completed its first month sales.
Talking about the interior features, the Pathfinder has sliding 2nd row split bench which allows seatback to easily fold and so that the whole seat can tilt forward with ease. It is indeed a very important feature for the families and that too for the ones who find it tough to enter rearmost seating space when the child seat is fixed in second row.
Pathfinder availability
While it is seen that the primary market for the 2013 Pathfinder is North America, it will even be exported to Australia, Russia and Middle East. The latest version will be able to easily tow 5000 pounds and will have seating for 7 passengers. Nissan further reported that the SUV will give 26 miles per gallon on highway and around 20 in the city.
More features on the 2013 Pathfinder
The latest 7 passenger Pathfinder rides on the uni-body platform as well and so it is lighter and provides carlike riding and handling features. The 2013 Pathfinder has variable transmission as well and the 3.5 liter, 6 cylinder engine featuring the 260 horsepower. Manufacturing of the Pathfinder will start in August at the assembly plant of the company in Smyrna in Tennessee. Soon after, the model will be available in the showrooms.

When Pathfinder goes on sale, it will be there in 4 trim levels- S, SV, SL & Platinum. Let’s see when the 2013 Pathfinder becomes available for purchase in India and at what price. It is believed that the pricing will be known closer to sale date only.
