The revenge story is back with Gangs of Wasseypur II
Anurag Kashyap has once again come out with his ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ portrayed in the wild city of Wasseypur. In the coming years, though the movie will not be seen as part-I or part-II, but as a complete story of fight and revenge. The first Gangs of Wasseypur ended with Sardar Khan’s death (Manoj Bajpayee). This lays the plot of the second Gangs of Wasseypur in which Sardar Khan’s sons claim the toll of their father’s death.
What is it about?
The sequel of Gangs of Wasseypur, i.e. part-II got to its main point rather quickly than the first part. It is not loaded with a lot of information, unlike its counterpart in part-I. The newer generation violence in Gangs of Wasseypur-II shows people who are now equipped with automatic rifles and mobile phones, unlike Gangs of Wasseypur-I. Anurag Kashyap shows far more adamant kind of blood-letting in Part-II.
Performances and acting
One of the main reasons why you should go and watch Gangs of Wasseypur is because of the top-notch performances of the actors. Nawazuddin Siddiqui has shown an absolute shift of the characters. Faizal is the one who takes revenge of each and every person! Huma has depicted a perfect and lovely performance as Mohsina. Watching the shifting moods in Gangs of Wasseypur of certain characters such as Perpendicular and Definite is a feast in itself. All other characters have shown a wonderful support at the screen.
Let’s talk about Technicalities
If we talk about the music, technical aspects as well as most importantly, the direction, it would have been really difficult to decide which character to keep in the sequence and which one to let go. Tough job has been perfectly done by Anurag Kashyap. However, at some point of the time, Gangs of Wasseypur-II does dies out of expectations. it seems to be long and boring at some points of the time.
Music, cinematography and action
Music given by Sneha Khanwalkar is just amazing. As far as editing is concerned, Shweta Venkat Matthew should have done a bit better job. Cinematography of Rajeev Ravi is amazing! Action scenes by Shyam Kaushal are also quite a feast to watch on screen.
Final verdict
Even though Gangs of Wasseypur-II seems like revenge story of what has been shown in the part-I, but performances of the actors and music is what makes it worth watching. So, would we suggest you to go and watch this movie? Yes, truly! At least for the time being, you should go and watch what Gangs of Wasseypur-II feels like!
